02 — Dashboard · Notifications

Get told the moment a submission lands.

FormPing supports three notification channels. Mix and match — they all run in parallel on every submission.

Web Push

Browser-native notifications for the dashboard. Click the bell icon in the left sidebar to enable Web Push. Your browser will ask for permission; accept it once and you're done. Notifications fire even when the dashboard tab is closed, as long as your browser is running.

i

Web Push works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari 16+. The dashboard automatically resyncs your subscription if your browser rotates the endpoint.

Mobile apps

Native mobile apps for iOS and Android are coming soon. Once released, log in with the same email and password you use for the dashboard and your device is paired automatically. New submissions will arrive as native push notifications.

Both apps will include inbox, archive, swipe-to-archive, search, and per-token filtering.

Webhooks

For everything else, point a webhook at your own backend. Every submission is POSTed as JSON with an X-FormPing-Signature header (HMAC-SHA256) so you can verify it came from FormPing and not a spoofer. Setup, payload shape, and verification snippets in Node, PHP, and Python live in the Webhooks guide.

Notification content

Notifications include the submitter's name (extracted from a name field if present, or the email's local part as a fallback) and a one-line preview of the message. The full contents stay encrypted in storage and are only decrypted when you view them in the dashboard or app.

i

Notifications never include sensitive form data (passwords, payment info, etc.) — only the name and a short preview. Open the message to see the rest.
